Dumb angel or just dumb...Dennis Wilson...

Dennis Wilson was uncontrollable. He feel asleep on one of the morning shows, tried to cuddle up with Brian and almost feel off the sofa.

There is a band called "Friends of Dennis Wilson". Too bad his friends in real life didn't help him get help. Enablers, all.

In this section is the home he shared with the scags and weasel Charles Manson and crew. If that what he called friends (and he did even in interviews subsequent) then he didn't need enemies. He said "We ust sat an talked and did the things that all friends do." Well, Dennis your life was going down and you were headed for the skids at the bottom of the cliff and Chalie Manson pushed you prematurely.

A very handsome man, a young girl told me once "Denny Wilson has been calling me." I happened to be with a friend. She looked at the girl and said "Don't answer."

Poor Dennis reminded everyone that he was "a Beach Boy"...like his own existence needed validity.

"All I need is a big surfboard and a piano." - 1969 (a brain and some common sense would help too, Dennis!)

My mom had to beg the guys to let me play. I couldn't even play the drums right - Brian had to show me.

They say I live a fast life. Maybe I just like a fast life. I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world. It won't last forever, either. But the memories will.

Was Dennis Wilson a part of the murders at the Tate home 40 years ago? In a direct way, yes. How he could have let a dirty quasi-guru and a bunch of clap ridden whores into his lovely home for more than a few hours is a mystery. I think it may have been laziness - knowing that someone else would procure the dope, that the pussy was easy, familiar and you could have some things that you wanted but had to work for from other girls without trying. Like back door sex. Like three-somes.

On top of that the girls cooked just like maids. What more could a dim-wit who called himself with his friends including Terry Melcher and Gregg Jakobson "The blond perpetrators want."

Not much substance that's for sure.

Hey dimwit, before you go trashing someone in print, you should learn to read, spell and write a complete sentence. Then take that knowledge and read a book about your subject. This is just pathetic.

Dennis Wilson is my hero, and a musical genius. Anybody who has anything bad to say about him is a despicable human being.

Denny was anything but dumb. Know a little backstory before running off at the mouth. By 1968 the Beach Boys' world had crashed (& when I say Beach Boys I mean the band as much as the family which encompassed it). The whole hippie thing had happened & weird took precedent over quality, and since the BBs weren't willing to jump on all the trend bandwagons (à la their rivals from Liverpool) & SMiLE was lost thanks to Mike & Capitol their career was in it's first decline since they started in '61. That accompanied with a failed marriage & the deterioration of the brother he adored so much probably contributed to lack of judgement in a man who was already accepting & charitable to a fault. This was a good looking, charismatic young man. It was also the late '60s. In California. And he was a Rock Star. If that's not a perfect storm for less than perfect judgement, what is? Dennis just happened to pick up a couple hitchickers who ended up being members of the most infamous group of killers in history. These were normal looking young girls from normal families, who could've known. THEY showed up at his house with their "family", headed by Manson when he returned home from a session. What red blooded 23 year old American male who was infamous for his love of the opposite sec wouldn't have been intrigued by some little mediocre looking freak who had such a hold over all these girls? They lived at Dennis' for less than 6 months (which was the duration of their association), until things got too weird (& too expensive) for Dennis at which point he moved out of his own house until he could get rid of them. Dennis hadn't even known Manson had been in jail. Manson proceeded to stalk & threaten him (at some point Dennis beat him up). After it came out who'd committed the murders, nobody took it worse than Dennis. He was an exceptionally big hearted & sensitive human being, so he unjustifiably placed some blame on himself even though it had been over a year since he'd kicked them out. It haunted Dennis until his own premature death, & undoubtedly played a role in his downward spiral. After those murdered on August 9 & 10, 1969, Dennis Wilson was the biggest victim of all

I have just one problem with the above comment. The part where the author says the Beach Boys "weren't willing to jump on all the trend bandwagons (à la their rivals from Liverpool)." Maybe the Beach Boys didn't jump on any bandwagon but the Beatles didn't either. The Beatles WERE the band wagon. They were the ones who always set the bar that all other groups would be judged by. Both groups were great in their own way but this many years later it's as obvious as the nose on a person's face that the Beatles have, and always will, endure much longer than the Beach Boys.
